Meducation Reduces Medication Errors

What if there was a way to make sure that every patient understood how to take their medication properly?
What if you could create medication instructions for every patient even if they didn't speak English?
What if these instructions contained visual demonstrations to illustrate proper techniques for medication use?
What if you could do all this in just seconds?
Meducation is coming ... June 1st, 2009 (beta release, invitation only).

Multilingual Patient Instructions

With almost 4 billion prescriptions being filled each year, making sure that every patient takes their medication correctly is critical to patient safety. Medication mistakes are the most common form of medical errors in the United States and results in 3.6 million office visits, 700,000 emergency room visits, and 117,000 hospitalizations each year according to a report on medication safety from the Institute of Medicine. Developed with funding from the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Meducation is a time-saving, innovative on-line tool that generates custom medication instructions for patients in many languages.

Visual Demonstrations

How many doctors and pharmacists have enough time to teach every patient how to take their medication properly? The answer, unfortunately, is very few. Doctors and pharmacists simply lack the time and resources to adequately demonstrate proper medication use. And when language barriers are present, education is almost never provided. Meducation saves time and ensures safety by automatically providing access to on-line demonstration that can be viewed in the patient's primary language – in the doctor’s office, in the pharmacy, or in the comfort of the patient's home.
